In 1957 Jaguar launched its final version of the successful and glamorous XK range, the XK150. The last of the XK range could be easily identified by its more bulbous appearance and a less pronounced wing line. Modern styling touches included a revised front grille, full width deeper bumpers appeared as well as a deeper one piece windscreen.

Mechanical changes included optional disc brakes, which came complete with servo assistance. The brakes had always been criticised on earlier XK models and so the new option was fitted to virtually all XK150 versions. Engine power had now increased to 210bhp on the 3.4 litre "SE" (Special Equipment) XK150, the standard car made do with 190bhp.

As before with earlier models, the Drophead Coupe version of the XK150 sat at the top of the range and commanded a price of ? 1,969 7s for the SE version. The Drophead Coupe came with all of the usual refinements including a fully lined convertible hood / Top.
